Aims & Values

AIMS

PGHS aims to foster the individual development of each pupil in a variety of ways which include:

  • Enabling our pupils to strive for academic excellence whilst equipping them with the skills and attributes required to take an active role in the 21st century.
  • Providing a nurturing environment which develops pupils’ emotional well- being and personal development, thus enabling them to become confident, independent and resilient young people.
  • Offering opportunities for pupils to be inquisitive, creative and innovative so that they will develop a lifelong love of learning.
  • Encouraging and supporting pupils to be physically active and to follow a healthy lifestyle.
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent, mutually-supportive relationships between pupils, staff and parents.

VALUES

PGHS is a close and caring community that embeds strong moral and spiritual values through its teaching and pastoral care. This is exemplified by our School motto “By Love Serve One Another”.

We work together to create a safe, secure and supportive environment where all backgrounds, cultures and faiths can thrive through mutual respect, understanding and tolerance.

We value and nurture the individuality of all pupils within our one-school family and take great pride in the unique contribution they make to PGHS.

We believe that with privilege comes responsibility and foster in our pupils a sense of ownership and duty towards PGHS and the global community.

We recognise the importance of developing well-rounded individuals and offer a rich and exciting programme of extracurricular activities in school as well as supporting the pupils in their endeavours outside of school.
